A change like this has already been implemented to android foss-software like PixelplayerOSS (alpha) so if Strawberry supported the feature, the apps could be sync'd and used together flawlessly.

However, I cannot create a grouping hierarchy in the following order:

Level 1: Year - Artist - Album

This would be useful for users with compilation albums, soundtracks, or large music collections where browsing by year and artist before album is preferred.

It should be possible to create a grouping hierarchy such as:

Year, Artist, Album

Additionally, it would be useful to allow ascending and descending sorting for grouping levels independently.

I got the same error until I realized Bandcamp appends a leading space when copying the Username or the Password, deleting it from both fixed it for me.

I'm currently going through my large music collection (280,000+ songs, with a lot of duplicates) and much of it is stored on an external harddrive. Once I listen to enough on my actual harddrive to free up some space, I move more music onto my laptop directly. Rinse and repeat.

This means, however, that I have to constantly rescan my collection (which is fine). While I can filter it by things added that day, I don't always get around to listening to music, and sometimes some albums don't show up as being added on the "Date Added: Today" filter as a result.

Since Strawberry lags a lot on Linux if I have too many tracks (which is the reason I don't just listen directly from the external harddrive) and since I'm not wanting to re-listen to songs at the moment, I have to clear my playlist, add my entire collection, then sort by rating and remove anything that's rated.

It would be much simpler to just be able to filter by unrated songs so that I can do things that way

(PS I think Strawberry is laggy because my laptop is lower end, not because of the software itself. I currently have 77,000 of the 280,000 songs and it does struggle a bit whenever I try and delete an entire album at once but for the most part it's fine!)

It's by no means an issue with functionality but I think it would be a nice QoL improvement, allowing users to customise the separator to their cosmetic preference. This extends beyond the Artist tag and could apply to Genre, Composer, etc.

It would also contribute to consistency across implementations/applications. Discord's Rich Presence for example uses the parsed metadata strings from Strawberry directly so multi-value tags currently appear separated by a space exactly as they are in Strawberry. Many other music players instead display multi-value tags using a comma or bullet point, so allowing users to change separator characters could open that door for more visual consistency should it be desired.

Currently, the right-click context menu for columns includes an “Align text” option. This affects the alignment of the text within the column, but the column header/label itself does not appear to follow that same alignment.

For UI consistency, it would be helpful if the column label/header aligned the same way as the column contents. For example:

• If a column is set to left-align, the header should be left-aligned.
• If a column is set to center-align, the header should be centered.
• If a column is set to right-align, the header should be right-aligned.

This may be a feature request, but it could also be considered a small UI bug, since the header visually feels like part of the same column alignment behavior.

I really enjoy using the included analyzers and moodbar, but I am using a 4K screen, and those are too small to be that usable.

Is there any option to increase their size? I would like to be able to drag the bottom margin of the analyzer area and make it wider. The same for the moodbar seeker.

If not, maybe take it as a suggestion for a feature request.

Similar to Darkmaster006, I think the easiest solution would be to have an option to display the collection with selectable columns, just like in the playlist.
That would greatly simplify the sorting process.

Yes, it can also be done using a playlist. However, if, for example, a new folder is added, the playlist needs to be updated again.

That would allow users to quickly select tracks from the collection, for example by genre, to add them to the playlist.

But otherwise, it's a really great program, and I love it.

• Drop an album from a folder on disk into the playlist
• Select "Move to collection" from the context menu

This works great! It would be even better though, if the entries in the playlist get updated to the entries from the collection after moving.
Currently they are useless, as they point to the filesystem where the files got moved away from.
So I manually have to open my collection view, search for the album there, drag the album into the playlist and remove the old entries still pointing to the filesystem.

My only idea is to manually edit playlist file (export, import).

So I've used Foobar2000 for over 14 years. 14 years of perfect playlist management and playback statistics and also uploads to Last.FM.

Is there a way I can import this data into Strawberry Music Player? The answer is always no when I try and switch to other products. But I thought I'd check.

I would love a setting to enable caching of music for Subsonic. Tempus, the Android client I use to connect to Subsonic, does this nicely.

Could be implemented most simply by just caching the most recently played songs, allowing a configurable cache size and removing items from cache when the limit is reached.

A more complicated but ideal solution and something that Tempus supports is caching starred albums/tracks from Subsonic.
