@jonas I would not say that I completely gave up, but I just started a new position in a company so I lost that whole free time to mess with this particular thing

I went making https://github.com/guprobr/WakkaQt instead to learn a bit more Qt before resuming this task
The last ideas we discussed, I never tried... but the last post on projectM made me feel second toughts on the viability of the idea.... anyway, i want to resume this task someday I don't think we should give up but certainly something is missing in the backend inner parts of how Qt works with OpenGL and how projectM works with OpenGL, as it was discussed on the thread on github.

But the first thing i would do is trying with latest Qt LTS, before anything.
Second thing, to try with the same version on Windows!
We have to figure where the problem is. Obviously its a Qt issue, but what made me stop working on it was when SDL window version showed the same issues. That was very disappointing.

This seem to have to do with the client ID which the tidalapi script uses, and quality set to "HI_RES_LOSSLESS" and stream URL method set to "playbackinfopostpaywall".

HI_RES_LOSSLESS was missing for quality, added now.

I'm able to stream with some albums with 96/24 and some with 192/24 without any other modifications to the authentication code.

Album Synced to Various Artists Folder Incorrectly.

Tested again today with the latest. I also looked into each album that ended up getting put into the various artists folder incorrectly.

It seems that the sync to device feature takes into account ALL tracks in an album regardless if they are all being synced or not.

What I would like strawberry to do is only consider the information of the tracks being synced to the device when applying the sync options.

I get stutter/jump when starting flac files.

I actually notice a problem now with Strawberry and GStreamer 1.18 on Windows where it periodically makes a small "pop" sound (possible jump), not exactly sure what to call it, it occurs circa 4 seconds into the track, but sometimes elsewhere too, similar problem occurs when unpausing consistently each time.
I have only tested with FLAC files, but see that problem only occurs with the FLAC codec, playing the same file works fine using libav codec from within Strawberry. I can't reproduce the problem with gst-launch with either codec.
The problem is gone when downgrading GStreamer to version 1.16.2. So I tried to compile gstreamer using the latest code from git too see if the problem has already been fixed, and the problem appears to be fixed. I can definitely tell it by unpausing. So I'm going to use that until the next stable version of GStreamer is released.
So hopefully this will resolve also the issues reported to by @warbaque and @kaiser_sosai.
The buffering issues are most likely a different problem.

Fellas there are multiple repos out there offerings the macos and windows versions for free. It is also relatively simple to copy the repo and use github to build them yourself if you so choose. There is no need to be rude to jonas.

The issue with Strawberry leaving open pipelines which leads to open files should be fixed in version 1.2.1. However the new version won't work on Ubuntu 22.04 as Strawberry now requires a newer Qt version than is available on that Ubuntu version, consider upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble).

The "Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in" error could be a GStreamer bug, maybe a newer GStreamer version solves that.

Finally, I have managed to update the collection thanks to the advice of "nonsequitur" to delete the albums that Tidal has been disabling from my mobile app and thus I could finally make all the music appear again in Strawberry.
