I have a question about a minor annoyance I've had for a long time:

I listen to both several internet radio live streams, and tracks from my local music collection with Strawberry. Due to the internet radio streams, I have automatic album cover search (Context tab->right click on album cover image->"Search automatically" check box) turned off/disabled.
Regardless, every time a live stream track changes, Strawberry tries to find an album cover for it. When it does find something, it often has nothing to do with the track playing (I assume due to inconsistencies in track data from different live streams) and sometimes gets into NSFW territory.
So why does Strawberry keep searching for live stream album covers when I have the "Search automatically" option unchecked?

It is only for Android devices. I will provide a link to what I have made so people can let me know if there is an interest in continuing my work. I would need my code reviewed and added to the main program for this to work. I only made it for a medium sized screen, but will make more if people are interested. Also, with Google changing its policy on side loading apps, if people do want me to continue, I will need testers for this, and they apparently would need to have a link sent to them from Google. I have not yet put anything online other than the code itself and a readme with some images and functionality write-up.

A known issue is when songs are added to the player screen via drag and drop, it has default values (id = -1, cover image is empty etc). It tends to mess with the playlist until the program is closed and the playlist is saved. Once restarted, the app sees the proper information.

Here is the github link: https://github.com/jacktolmie/strawberry_app

You can't use a client ID from https://developer.tidal.com/dashboard, if that's what you've tried, that's not compatible.

Bandcamp now implements the Subsonic API, which will allow you to stream your collection through the Subsonic clients that we support. (Right now, that’s Amperfy, Feishin, and Submariner. Others may work, you’re welcome to try.)

To get started, go to Fan Settings, scroll down to Subsonic, and generate your credentials. You can then add Bandcamp as a Subsonic or OpenSubsonic server in your Subsonic client with the server URL https://bandcamp.com/api/subsonic.

Now that Bandcamp has a streaming API, I think it should be added as a dedicated stream service, alongside Tidal, Spotify and Qobuz! I did try adding the API as a Subsonic stream in Strawberry, but I just got a 401 Internal server error. Bandcamp does state this feature is in beta, and I don't have the know-how to diagnose if the error is coming from Strawberry or Bandcamp.

I'm currently going through my large music collection (280,000+ songs, with a lot of duplicates) and much of it is stored on an external harddrive. Once I listen to enough on my actual harddrive to free up some space, I move more music onto my laptop directly. Rinse and repeat.

This means, however, that I have to constantly rescan my collection (which is fine). While I can filter it by things added that day, I don't always get around to listening to music, and sometimes some albums don't show up as being added on the "Date Added: Today" filter as a result.

Since Strawberry lags a lot on Linux if I have too many tracks (which is the reason I don't just listen directly from the external harddrive) and since I'm not wanting to re-listen to songs at the moment, I have to clear my playlist, add my entire collection, then sort by rating and remove anything that's rated.

It would be much simpler to just be able to filter by unrated songs so that I can do things that way

(PS I think Strawberry is laggy because my laptop is lower end, not because of the software itself. I currently have 77,000 of the 280,000 songs and it does struggle a bit whenever I try and delete an entire album at once but for the most part it's fine!)
