I then try to upload a screenshot to the forum post. honestly not a surprise at this point that that doesn't work either.

back to my issue

I then try to shuffle the playlist in place in the right window that i would show you but yeah obviously I am unable.

Try this 10x ways including the button that indicates shuffle all shuffle group shuffle album but nope no shuffle. So i think to myself, okay maybe there is a list indices that is being shuffled behind the scenes and the GUI just isn't representing this. so okay cool lets save the smart playlist on the right panel with the interface button at the top save playlist and try to start that playlist and see if the playlist is shuffled and not just starting on the last song in A-Z sorting order. Wouldn't you know it. every which way I tried this no shuffling occurs. and i start at the same song every single time.

I then attempt to take my happy a** to the tab on that literally says "playlists" okay only option is to create a new folder. Weird but okay, make the folder. okay then what. lets try the save playlist button in the top with the entirety of the smart playlist in the right panel selected and nothing happens. okay lets try a drag and drop of those files into the folder. and nothing. okay lets try and drag and drop the .xspf file i created from the smart playlist into that folder or the empty space in general. This is sure to get me a static playlist that can be shuffled. Wouldn't you know it, it does not work either.

okay next option. delete the folder from the playlist tab. see an embedded note " you can favorite playlists by clicking the star icon next to a playlist name. Favorited playlists will be saved here" Guys i am not drooling and wearing a helmet. There is not a single GUI element in this application (on my end) that populates a static playlist file or entry and also represents a star next to it anywhere. If i looked over it i apologize but I looked hard and got myself very aggravated dealing with this and searched long and hard for this magical star next to my playlist hell any playlist file or a way to drop that playlist file i made anywhere into the GUI of the app for easy repeatable access.

So i guess ill just go back to beating my head into the wall trying to figure this out.

P.S. why is there not a single context menu entry. toolbar button anything, for snapping the song that is currently being played to its entry in the right panel, or hell even my native file system for editing of the tags, title, artist, and other meta data. like you have the entire functionality built in for this however have just completely neglected like a core feature of a music collection manager/player. I have thousands of songs. Sometimes i hear a song and read the title and say oh that is not right. I would like to be able to fix that on the fly and not have to waste UN-necessary time when we have CPU chips running at 5_GHz i should not have to go manually searching for this. like context menu entry -> snap GUI to file entry in playlist is done in literally micro seconds even on extremely large databases.

Sorry if i am coming off like a dick or like I am expecting the moon from free software, I'm not and i appreciate what you have built. its just like core functionalities that a standard user would use within their first hour of using this application just simply do not work. The advanced stuff is cool and I appreciate all of that but can we please like get the basics down first. I would be willing to help if you want. my experience has just been really bad so far in the frame of reference of a general user just trying to listen to music. Like i said all the advanced features cool as ever but at the end of the day if the core functions aren't functioning me or someone heck anyone is going to just pack up their music library and go to another application and yeah that may be fine and dandy but then like what was the point in building all of this if you don't care if people don't use it. not saying you do think that way or do not.. i just feel like you want the user experience to be good and not bad. anyways adios. https://github.com/Drewlius I have not been programming for an extremely long time like a little less than a year but id be happy to learn the code base and help out where I can in getting these more basic features more optimal for someone who just installed the app and didn't take the time to read a lot of documentation. again sorry if i came off like a dick or anything I don't mean to be that way but I've been told that my tone is dick-ish.

Edit. I found the star but yall that is in the most easily looked over location, and nothing else in this app implements a similar feature its honestly like completely backwards from everything else this app does and how it works. I just feel like a little child reading an activity book right now "okay little jimmy here is the star can you find the star and then tap on it twice" "good job little jimmy don't eat that crayon okay" again sorry if i;m coming off as a dick i'm not intentionally doing it that's just how i felt and I'm honestly just kind of laughing not even angry or anything. yall have a good day.
