This seems like a pretty obvious feature to me that no audio player / music organizer has: per device / library folder file organization settings.

Here's the scenario, my main multi-terrabyte collection has the files organized with this pattern.

      %artistinitial/%albumartist/{%year-}%album/{Disc %disc/}/%track-%title.%extension

I also have a 1G flash drive that goes in a Tascam GB-10 that I use to learn to play songs for my band. The above folder structure would bonkers to navigate on that device, plus the files must land in a sub folder on the device named "music" so it's organization pattern is:

      music/%title.%extension

And I have a 512G flash drive for putting music in my car, which can't read a folder structure that is nested too deeply. So it's organization pattern is:

      %artist/%album/{%disc-}%track-%title.%extension

But wait there's more! I have all my soundtrack albums in a separate library folder, and to keep the album "together" it's organization goes:

      %album/{Disc %disc/}/%track-%title.%extension

As it stands now I have to "reconfigure" the organization rule each and every time I either want to add new things to the main collection (adjusting for what type of album it is) or copy new songs onto either the GB-10 flash drive, or the car's flash drive, or the Mrs's phone (which requires a different root folder)...GAH!

@maverick While I am not generally a fan of most of the suggestions promoted here, I like this one.

I, too, have had a similar issue with the USB flash drives I use in my truck. If the directory structure is deep, the system in my truck will skip the track or complain about it. Both of which is annoying.
