Seeking some clarification.

I've been using SMP for a few years now on my personal Linux box. I've now got a Mac, I know but it's work so, y'know!
SO I wanted to add SMP to this new machine. The last free version is a fair taster but it's old and a bit buggy on newer Macs. I decided to pay for the app on this Mac.
So, no issue with paying for it, it's Patreon, how can you get it? How much? £5.50 a month, £19.95 as a one off? Both? Not really sure how that works. Following the links to third party sites isn't that helpful.
(As an aside I have had issues in the past with Patreon and cancelling subs! That was both time consuming and infuriating. Not something I'd want to repeat.)
My other question is around bugfixes. I know Jonas does a lot of work fixing stuff and releases lots of updates, all good stuff, but is that £20 every time a bugfix release comes along or do you get bugfix point releases included. Or am i forced to subscribe?
SMP is probably one of the best players out there right now. Maybe more information and clarity around this might be helpful.
