Understanding Playlists vs Queues vs Multiple Queues

I'm new to the world of Strawberry but I'm really liking it so far. This might sound silly but I'm struggling to understand how the flow is supposed to work though.
If I'm playing a playlist and then go to another playlist and tell it to play a song next, it adds it to the playlist.
I have this mindset where playlists are static - you play it or shuffle it and that's it. Whereas, queues might be thought of more as something like a temporary working area - you can add to it, remove songs, rearrange, etc. without affecting your playlists.
Am I misunderstanding this?And if I try to do everything in the queue, I get super-confused. Why is there a queue for each playlist? If I want to play a bunch of songs from one playlist and then have it continue with a bunch from another playlist, shouldn't it all just go into one queue?
Maybe I'm doing this wrong or thinking about it wrong, but that's why I'm reaching out. I appreciate any help you can provide.
Is there any help or documentation on how this should work?

The queue is a way of temporarily picking some songs to play and their order. You can't play more than 1 playlist at a time. -

Thanks, that makes sense on the queue - I'm just not used to seeing multiple queues instead of one queue to add songs from wherever.Thanks for your getting back to me!
