Tidal OAuth login error
-
Hi, all!
I have an API token from the Tidal app on my Android phone, and a valid user account (I can stream both from the Android app and the Tidal web player), but using that token in the Strawberry settings for Tidal, along with my username and password, gives the error "Authentication failure: Client not found (401) (8003)".
I read that to say that the API token is valid only on my Android device?
Anyway, it seems to me that Tidal now only supports the OAuth token based API calls?
However, if I select "Use OAuth" in the Strawberry settings for Tidal, and my username for Client ID, then a Tidal login web page opens, stating that "Something went wrong. Please try again. If the error persists, contact customer support". The same happens if I try to use my Android API token as Client ID.
I haven't contacted Tidal customer support on this issue, because I did contact them to get an API token, and they were totally uncooperative
From https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry and the discussion comment at https://github.com/MusicPlayerDaemon/MPD/issues/545#issuecomment-506386102 I get the impression that Tidal should work with Strawberry, but I'm sadly stuck.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this feature no longer working?
Edit: I'm on Linux by the way, and please just ask if you need any details.

@ferdinand I'm having the same Issue, using a token that I obtained with Fidler on a windows machine I'm not able to login to tidal,
I managed to login being redirected to my web browser, but if I try to listen to something I will get
I can browse the songs and everything but can't listen is this a new Issue or a limitation from the Tidal side ? -
Use your token and try to login with the web-browser check this http://timothyjohnson.me.uk/posts/2021/01/16/Tidal_API_for_Linux/ but still I'm not able to play something
Tried with all the methods available on the "settings" section but still I'm not able to play music
