Strawberry vs. Clementine
-
Hi All - I'm a newbie here. I've been happily using MusicBee for a few years. And, now I know I will leaving Windows behind and going to MacOS. I started researching what the music organizer alternatives were and stumbled onto Clementine. That quickly led me here to Strawberry. I like the energy I feel surrounding Strawberry. I am hoping someone here will explain to me in not-too-tech terms what the "fork" from Clementine is all about. I am enjoying moving in.

Fork means that instead of being written from scratch, it's started off with the source code from Clementine.

Hi Jonas - I am wondering most about the reason for the fork. Like I said I really enjoy the enthusiasm I feel around Strawberry, and I did see comments at Clementine about the amount of time that passes between updates. For anyone else interested I did find this two-year old Reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/anp6r2/strawberry_music_player_a_fork_of_clementine_i/) discussing the fork to Strawberry. for myself, I am going to jump onto Strawberry. My short term interests are having a music organizer that will replace MusicBee running in Windows 10 and then carry me over as I transfer to MacOS.

Hi guys! First of all, I can say that the MacOS is very convenient to work, and secondly, I can't open the link to reddit, which you have discounted
