Scan not finding all files in library
-
Strawberry 1.2.7, MacOS 13.7.4 (Ventura).
I have a NAS set up with all my music on it, mounted as an SMB share at /Volumes/Music. My Strawberry preferences are set with "/Volumes/Music" as the source for my collection.
Under that mount I have my collection organized as <artist>/<album>/<tracks>
Recently I added a new album from a new artist to my collection on the NAS, then initiated a full rescan on the collection and when it finished the new artist hadn't appeared. I did a little investigating and the owner, group and permissions for the new subdirectories are the same as for other directories that are found by the scan.
I did a little more investigation and discovered that there are other subdirectories that aren't appearing in the collection. I can't find anything "special" about the missing entries.
Is there an easy way to clear the collection and rescan it from scratch without losing all my other settings? Alternately, is there any easy way to get debugging output from the scan process? -
@mike_jones Further investigation and even stranger. I opened up the config db with sqlite3 and I can query the "songs" table and I find at least some of the missing tracks there, though not the new album I added.

@mike_jones Strangeness continues. Because I'm impatient, I decided to try deleting the directory I had for my library location then adding it back. Now if I go into settings I have a blank window for folders to be scanned, and no matter what directory (local or remote) I try to add to it, the settings window closes when I select the directory and the directory doesn't appear as selected when I reopen it. I made a backup copy of the db before trying this, but even when I quit strawberry, copy the backup back to strawberry.db and restart it fails the same way.
My bad if I broke it, but would appreciate some help troubleshooting. -

Try giving Strawberry full disk access under System Settings / Security -
@jonas Just tried that, no change.

@mike_jones Other bits of info: rebooted the Mac, no change. I can add a directory from the file share directly to a playlist and the files play fine.

@mike_jones Okay, because I'm impatient (and not ragging on you, Jonas -- I'm not expecting immediate responses) I uninstalled Strawberry including all the bits I could find with config information, reinstalled 1.2.7 and It's now reloading my collection. Will update when it's finished to see if it seems to have gotten everything, though it may be hard to tell because there were definitely tracks in the database that weren't showing up in the collection.

If a song does not appear in the collection try dragging the file from Finder to the playlist and see if it's added or you get an error.
