Music Player file size.

I have a large record collection that I have migrated to my desktop. the file size is over 2200 songs. I have been having issues playing any music. The error has to do with not being able to open any song. Originally I thought there was no limit but I am getting a bit riled having someone fix this problem on a monthly basis. I am not a programmer so have to rely on others who have more knowledge. thank you for your time and input.
