Re: How do I enable gapless playback?

Is anybody reading these things???? I'd like to know how to do the same; in the Git repository there's mention of a fix to gapless playback...what gives?

Gapless playback is when there is no gap when transitioning to the next song. It's always enabled, and there is no setting for it.
It does not strip the actual silent beginning or ending from a song, that's something else, not what's usually considered gapless playback. There is no option or plans to add any feature to strip off silent parts from a song.

@jonas Some albums have tracks with no silence at the beginning or the end so it can seem like one continuous track. Strawberry puts a very quick but noticable gap between these tracks which ruins the experience. Any reason why that gap gets inserted?

Strawberry does not add any gap between song. A gap can happen with the end time of a song does not line up with the start time of the next song. Possible reasons for this, there is something wrong with audio files, it could be a system related issue, or the specific audio format you are playing is not working properly with gapless playback.

I notice the gaps between all songs when I play them from subsonic. I can play the same songs with AIMP and there is no gap between the songs. Most of the albums with live music. I do not transcript the songs on subsonic. So the original songs are playing on strawberry.

The gap may be inserted during compression/encoding: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gapless_playback#Compression_artifacts
