Inline tags editing + .flac seeking bugged
-
Hello, first of all big thank you to developers for bringing this awesome player to us. I love the feature set it provides, the UI and general experience - it's just what I need in a form I like. There are just two problems I have with it though.
-
I do quite a lot of tag editing, not in the editor, but inline, because I just want to quickly add author/song name for future use/search. There's neat feature when I edit one column and hit TAB key, it switches to next column. Except not always. When I edit Song (first column) and hit TAB for the first time, it switches to Artist (second column) no problem. When I hit ENTER to finish editing, it's still fine. But in next and any other row, when I edit Song and then hit TAB, it skips Artist and switches to Album artist (third column). Or simply to the column next to the last edited one. I need to SHIFT+TAB to return one (or more) columns back. It's no big deal and I got used to that.
Problem is in one of the recent versions, there's a bug when I write something in the tag, it always ends editing the tag midway and I finish my writing in the song filter. Like if there's some kind of troll hitting ENTER during my writing. Sometimes it's after two letters, sometimes after five. This is really annoying. -
When I listen to flac files and I seek through the song (either via keyboard or mouse click to seek bar) the music stops. It's like it is still playing (waveform and time is running), but it produces no sound. Whenever in this situation I seek backwards a bit, music hops in on again. Strangely it looks like MP3 files are not affected and it's specified to flac only.
I do have quite competent modern PC (Ryzen 5500 + B550 board + SSD only), am running openSUSE Tumbleweed, pipewire and both bugs are replicable both in repo provided version and also in flatpak.

@pokuston
The flac seek issue is a well-known libflac issue, it is fixed in flac version 1.4.2, but openSUSE currently uses flac 1.4.1.
I have submitted an update here: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1038249I need to look into the tag inline editing issue.

@jonas Thank you for fast response!
Problem #2 (inline editing) was the reason I ditched Clementine which had this exact same problem. Strawberry did not suffer from this and I was happy. It appeared like 2 or maybe 3 weeks ago with update.
Anyway, it's still the best player/manager I've found for my use case.

@pokuston
The inline editing is interrupted because the collection is updated when you hit tab to edit the next field, it's a bug, should be pretty easy to fix. -
@jonas Awesome! Thank you again!

@jonas Any progress in fixing this? Sadly it's still doing the same thing.

//speaking about inline editing; flac seeking is fixed for a long time - thank you!

@pokuston
I've fixed the inline editing now. I will make a new release this summer.
