Running v. 1.0.14. Everything seems to be OK except that I shuffled files around a little and I cannot update the tags.
In this case, I fat-fingered the artist tag and listed it as 'Elton John g' instead of 'Elton John' when I ripped the CD.
I manually updated the folder name and the file names. Then I went to update the tag data. In this case, I corrected the Artist name.

When I went to save the change, it says there was an error:
"An error occurred writing metadata to '/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=192.168.4.200,share=data/Music/Elton John/Caribou/01 The Bitch is Back.flac'"

I also tried letting it complete the tags automatically. I tried changing them one file at a time. Each time I get the same error.

The file directory is "Artist/Album/Track - TItle.flac" There is no "Elton John g" folder. I moved all the files and deleted that directory.

      Any ideas?

This is probably related to gvfs, I suggest to mount the SMB in fstab.
