Currently, publisher metadata cannot be accessed by any means available within the application itself. I would appreciate being able to sort my collection and smart playlists according to the publisher field in the tags, as well as being able to display it on the context pane.

I would also appreciate this feature, grouping by genres is currently unusable for me due to the same issue you describe.
