One more thing... It might be a good idea to test with a small batch of files first, rather than the whole collection. Then, check things out in Strawberry and your file manager, to see if everything is organized as you desired.

I'm on CachyOS and experiencing the exact same issue.

Scrobbling from Strawberry up to Last.fm works fine for me as well. However, whenever I listen to music on my phone or other devices and want to pull those play counts back into Strawberry, I can't do it because the sync button is no longer available.

It seems two-way fetching/importing is currently unavailable or missing in the newer versions. Hopefully, the developers can bring this feature back soon!

I added more screen shots on the github page. It shows different screen orientations with light/dark mode etc. It works for phones currently, and I will be making tablet layouts, and maybe foldable devices as well. I might look into adding smart playlists, and if I can, some radio options. Not sure how that works yet, but will look into it.

It doesn't support multi-tags. It might be something we can implement at some point, but it's a huge job.

Dunno if this "sort tags" thing has been implemented yet, I use the latest version available on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. (Seems to be the latest release 1.2.19)

But if it is, I'd like to see the sort name in the list if using the sort name for alphabetizing. It's mentally not working in a list of names to see "Billy Idol" but it's sorted as "Idol, Billy" in the middle of I-starting names.

It's pretty much how you explain it, it's up to you how long you subscribe or how often you want to pay for a release.

@mike_jones not sure how you can call it a bargain. If you actually pay to keep the player updated on windows or mac it might be the most expensive consumer media player on market at $60/yr and @jonas doesn't event take feature requests.

I like the player a lot but the pricing is wild.

I don't believe such a guide exists, at least not on the Strawberry Wiki.

I can offer a few basic suggestions for a beginner.

Strawberry plays music in playlists. No matter what the source of the song, it will always open in a playlist. Playlist management is too lengthy to get into here, but you can create, label, save and "favorite" playlists.

Strawberry can play from any folder on your computer by selecting "Files" in the sidebar.

If you go a step further and point Strawberry to a folder in Settings > Collection, it will show the songs as a "library" when selecting "Collection" in the sidebar.

I would hold off with using anything that says "Organzie Files" at first. (There are naming and sorting options that you may want to consider.)

Go through all the settings, slowly and methodically. Make a note of your changes so you can revert if necessary.

Use the tool-tip notes by hovering your cursor over icons, etc.

And use your right click to display the many options available.
