Gentoo is ditching Clementine, recommends Strawberry as replacement

No real development since Q1 2020. Last release from 2016. Users should switch over to media-sound/strawberry which is an actively developed fork. Masked for removal in 30 days.
Some influx of Gentoo users may be expected soon
I made the move myself a few days ago, and so far I'm pleased with Strawberry, save for an issue that I've mentioned in the "Suggestions" subforum.

@leifbk I too am using strawberry on gentoo. Works good.
I think it needs to be more clear that Strawberry is not at feature parity with Clementine atm.

@davidsmind It seems like the issue has been resolved - I just installed Clementine 1.4 RC1 from the standard Gentoo repository.
After a month with Strawberry, I'm not that impressed after all. I think that I'll go back toi Clementine for now.
Even if Strawberry's got some nice features compared with Clementine, I can't have my music player playing files that I've deliberately hidden. I listen to a lot of old jazz records in semi-random dynamic playlist mode, much of it "complete" collections with outtakes, false starts, studio discussions and what have you. I hide most of those tracks pretty soon, by putting a dot in the beginning of the file name. That works in Clementine, but obviously not in Strawberry.

@jonas I upgraded to 1.0.1 this morning, but I can't see any change. I've rescanned the collection and try to "remove unavailable tracks from playlist", but nothing happens, even if I know that there are hidden tracks there. Do I have to flush the playlist and start over?
