    • RE: Shortcuts for ratings

      @rlkeeney

Allows using calls from dbus to rate a currently playing song without having to open up the player and click the star rating.

This is useful for media playing from a second computer (laptop, media machine)

It also allows you to bind alt-f1-f10 to half a star to 5 stars

It also allows apps like kde connect to have a ratings ui function in multimedia control, so you can rate a currently playing song with your phone

I think we'd all like this functionality.

Ok, so I used a hex editor to change the api key and secret, still bails at around the same point . I suppose the page pulls are too agressive.

    • Last.fm Import does not work for large libraries

      https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry/issues/1936

Cross posting the issue here in case someone else has found a userspace solution to this.

There is one shared api key for all strawberry users here, hardcoded in strawberry:
      https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry/blob/afc3effc9d6bcfec83f60e9b90bd55dbac14c672/src/scrobbler/lastfmscrobbler.cpp#L69C13-L69C28

A possible solution would be to allow the user to specify last.fm api key, which they own, either manually (via an environment variable, config file or passed in argument) or via the ui.

Additionally, some more resilience (backoff llogic) would allow large libraries to eventually successfully be fetched even with the shared api key.

expose xesam:userRating to Property: Metadata and allow updating via dbus or global shortcut

@leifbk I too am using strawberry on gentoo. Works good.

I think it needs to be more clear that Strawberry is not at feature parity with Clementine atm.

      this is a recent issue

      Hi,

      Just some clarification:
By " this is a recent issue" do you mean that Strawberry Version 1.0 on Manjaro was seeking correctly for you previously and stopped working?
