How to enable the equalizer on Linux Mint?
-
Hello everyone,
I just installed Strawberry and wanted to check out the equalizer and what settings I can perform.
However, when I go to "tools->equalizer", the "equalizer" button is greyed out, so I can not enter the eqalizer menu.Is there anything I have to setup first before I can use the equalizer? Or do I have to set some flags when building Strawberry from source?
I do have pulseaudio-equalizer installed and can use a system wide equalizer with the qpaeq command, in case that information is useful.

@metagross31 I'm on Mint 20.3 (Mate), installed via PPA, and I never had this issue.
Just shooting in the dark here, but did you install Strawberry through the Software Manager or by following PPA instructions on Strawberry's main site? Is anything listed when you click the "Collection" button? Have you tried adding something to the playlist pane?

The equalizer is only available with gstreamer, either you compiled strawberry without gstreamer, or selected VLC instead of gstreamer in the backend settings. -

The equalizer is only available with gstreamer, either you compiled strawberry without gstreamer, or selected VLC instead of gstreamer in the backend settings. That was the problem! I installed the gstreamer backend and rebuilt Strawberry and now it works. Thanks a lot!
