I am also unable to drag and drop files. When I try I get the following error.

If I add via the menu there is no issue.

But Strawberry also does not find any new files in a collection scan since the most recent update.

I deleted the profile folder and the problem still persists.

        Hello there!

I'm new here but I've encountered the same issue when I installed the app from Flatpak.

On the other hand, after downloading the .deb file and installing it, the app worked just fine.

@trincowski Yes, I am using Flatpak, The Deb file install doesn't inherit the dark theme and looks ugly, so I'd like a solution for the Flatpak version.

Strawberry reads files in it's own process (strawberry-tagreader), maybe Flatpak restricts file access on that process so it can't see the files.

@jonas From what I saw, there is a difference in the paths.

My collection on the .deb version looks like "/home/Music" and in the FlatPak version it was something like "/run/usr/1000/music"

@jonas It is not a consistent issue though. So some files load, some don't, and from the same location with the same tag systems applied by myself. The files do not appear to be corrupted as the load and play on other players. But I like Strawberry the most.

@jonas Re: Strawberry not finding new files or allowing drag and drop

Update: I installed Flatseal and added permissions for Strawberry to access my external hard drive where my music files are located. So now Strawberry finds the files on a scan of the library, but I still cannot drag and drop files. It is very strange, and beyond my ability to investigate further.

I suggest to report the issue here: https://github.com/flathub/org.strawberrymusicplayer.strawberry/issues
