Strawberry 1.2.10 on MacOS Ventura 13.7.5

I've been working for a while with my music library on a NAS and mounting it to a couple of different computers in my house. Long story short, the old (~10 years) NAS box died recently. I had a backup to the cloud of all the data, purchased a Synology as a replacement and recovered all my music to it.
Got the new NAS mounted to my Mac and reset the collection location and kicked off a scan. It seemed to start pretty briskly based on the % complete updates, so I went away and left it. Roughly 2.5 hours later, it seems to be either stuck or progressing very slowly at 4% complete. There are a bit over 16K tracks in the collection.
I did a similar setup on my Unbuntu box with Strawberry 1.0.23 and completed in ~8 hours.

I can add a folder from the file share to a playlist and play it normally.

How can I troubleshoot what's happening with my scan?

@mike_jones Update: after another 45 minutes, it's up to 5% so not completely stuck, just very slow.
