Can't change metadata for album covers at all

when i added an album, it added the automatic cover in strawberry, but i wanted that to be in the metadata of the file since it was going to be transferred to another device. every time i try to change the data of the album in any way i get an error. i even somehow managed to delete the original cover while pressing every button at my disposal and now i cant get it back, even by deleting and adding back the album. im gonna lose my mind. i got strawberry on arch linux from the aur
