      Good Evening Strawberry Users

I am running Strawberry (1.2.11) under Manjaro Linux.

I believe I have found a bug, but would like others to confirm same before I submit a bug report.

      Here's is my scenario...

      1. Open an MP3 ID tag editor (I use Kid3)
      2. Select an album that does not have a cover associated with it.
      3. Add an ID tag for the embedded album cover (for example, from Discogs).
      4. Save that ID tag update.
      5. In Strawberry, look at the track information. The cover art will be displayed. That is as expected.
      6. In Strawberry, "Update Changed Collection Folders" to update the DB.
      7. In Strawberry, look at the updated artist/album list. The cover does not show up. Not what I would have expected.
      8. Add the album to a playlist and play the tracks. The album cover does not show up under "Context". Not what I would have expected.

The only manner in which I can get this to work as I expect it should, is to update another field. For example, when adding the album cover, also add a <space> character to the "Comment" ID tag, and then "Update Changed Collection Folders". The album cover then shows up correctly in steps 7 and 8 above.

In summary, it appears that adding only a cover image does not prompt Strawberry to update the DB entries.

Am I correct in believing this to be a bug?

Thanks in advance for any thought/suggestions/etc.

        @smeatheringham
It's known issue that when editing tags outside of strawberry, it's not always picked up if the mtime is not modified, you can try the touch command on the specific files, see if that triggers an update.

@jonas Many thanks. That is it.

The modification time of the files was being changed. However, the that of the directory under which they sat was not being updated. A "touch" of that directory, and then "Update Changed Collection Folders" works perfectly.

          Thanks again.
