Strawberry starts muted in Pulseaudio

I have a slight problem with Strawberry-0.9.3 and pulseaudio on Arch Linux.
Every time I start Strawberry, its output is initially muted in pulseaudio, and I need to manually unmute and set the volume to 100% in pavucontrol. I've tried different settings in the 'backend' section, with no change. No other audio-outputting programs are behaving like that...
