Ratings Disappearing

sometimes when i start strawberry the ratings for all tracks are gone and I must replace the db file with a previously saved copy to regain ratings.
why would this be happeningthanks

It can happen if the disk is temporary unavailable. Does it happen with playcounts too?
Make sure to check the setting "Mark disappeared songs unavailable" under settings / collection, this makes sure that the songs are not deleted from the database even if they disappear from disk. -

recent playcounts and lastplayed data are gone as well -
@mindwurx turns out my system was not mounting the drive with library at random thus causing problems as you mentioned
