1.1.0-rc4 Compilation or various artists are no longer grouped in a single entrance when grouping by albums

@AemiliusCrassus
The idea is that it separates albums that have different artist but same album name, obviously this won't work for compilations. I've fixed that now: https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry/commit/f4ec3ab379d3e05477e563f0c89c7fb1f516e4e1
If you can try a development build when it's available. -
@jonas thank you. Yes I understand that it can be a problem with different albums from different artists but with the same name, I witness that being a problem in other music library and players.
But thanks for fixing it

@jonas Hi, is there any estimation when this correction will be available in a regular build of Strawberry? I've just installed version 1.1.3 (running on Ubuntu 24.10) and I'm still facing this issue. When grouping by Album I still get multiple entries for each compilation (one entry for every artist on that compilation) instead of just one entry for each album (name).
Thanks. -
@Popmartijn
The fix should be in 1.1.3.
Are you sure the album is marked as a compilation, does it show up in "Various artists" if you group by "Album Artist / Album"? -
@jonas No, I don't think the album is marked as a compilation. I've never marked albums as compilation when ripping them (with Asunder or whatever I used previously). I'm not using the Album Artist tag either (never had to). When I group by Artist/Album (the other grouping I often use besides Album) I see the artists all with their own entry and then the (compilation) albums below them. Apart from 3 or 4 songs I don't have anything labelled as Various Artists.
