I've searched for solutions inside the forum and outside as well, but none of the suggestions worked.
Deleting the cache of gstreamer and rebooting does not help; the problem persists with all file types - Strawberry does not play anything anymore all of a sudden.

        Does gst-inspect-1.0 show the plugins?

@catch22: Maybe an update to latest version 1.0.3 will help.

I tried a .deb file with the latest version but had the same thing happening.
Then tried the ppa and it persists; although I'm not sure now which one is actually starting, the deb or ppa 😕

@catch22 I had the same error just a second ago.

Fixed it by entering strawberry settings and reselecting an output device via dropdown. Hopefully this will help you as well.
