MTP device does not show up when plugged in (KDE, Debian 12)
-
Hello all,
I never managed to use my phone as a device in Strawberry. It does not show up in the Devices pane when plugged in. It is not auto-mounted, but I can access it and transfer files from/to using a file browser, via MTP. However I need to do that in Strawberry, as I have lots of lossless music I would like to transcode on the fly when copying it to the phone.
Here is the system I am currently using:
Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 12
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8
Kernel Version: 6.1.0-52-amd64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 4 × Intel
Pentium
CPU G4600 @ 3.60GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel
HD Graphics 630Strawberry version: 1.0.14
I tried to launch
strawberry --verbosein a shell and plug the phone in, but nothing shows up as a message. Here's the output of
dmesgwhen I plug it in:[14412.899821] usb 3-1: new high-speed USB device number 16 using xhci_hcd [14413.711856] usb 3-1: new high-speed USB device number 17 using xhci_hcd [14413.932670] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=04e8, idProduct=6860, bcdDevice= 2.23 [14413.932684] usb 3-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [14413.932691] usb 3-1: Product: SAMSUNG_Android [14413.932696] usb 3-1: Manufacturer: SAMSUNG [14413.932701] usb 3-1: SerialNumber: R8YX50560EF [14413.943271] cdc_acm 3-1:1.1: ttyACM0: USB ACM deviceAny hint for debugging this?
