@jonas I just got the same error ("Strawberry was not compiled with Libgpod and so reading might be very slow and writing could not work") when connecting an ipod classic (circa 2008), but I'm using Strawberry on a linux computer (not a Mac as the original poster was):

OS: Pop!_OS 21.10 (System76's variant of Ubuntu)
Strawberry: v1.0.0 downloaded from the Pop_Shop as a flatpak with a last update release date of Oct 16, 2021

Do I need a development release in order to get past this error/warning?
