    • EBU R128 not working for a specific kind of vorbis/opus, but works for all other formats

I'm currently trying out EBU R128 after a long time of using ReplayGain but I've encountered a small issue, namely, EBU R128 not working for Vorbis and Opus files. But only specific kinds of Vorbis and Opus files! Here is an example of a Vorbis file that doesn't work that I found. And here is an example of a Opus file that doesn't work.

By "not working" I mean that Strawberry can't do EBU R128 analysis on these files, since the Track Information - Summary page is reporting EBU R128 values as "Unknown". This is after I've rescanned them and the whole collection a bunch of times.

Formats like MPEG and FLAC works flawlessly, though. Analysis comes through, playback is adjusted. It's great! But for reason, certain Vorbis and Opus files are just not having it. It seems I'm not alone in this 'cause another person also reported this as a bug on GitHub a while ago. Unfortunately, they didn't provide more info so the problem still persists.

A small note, although both Vorbis and Opus suffer, for whatever reason, it seems Vorbis is suffering less with most files working while Opus is suffering more. These non-working files can be forced to work by "transcoding" them into their own format using the built-in transcoder or FFmpeg i.e. Vorbis -> Vorbis or Opus -> Opus. So clearly it's really not inherent to the Vorbis/Opus format. From what I can see comparing the files using opusinfo, I have a sneaking suspicion that the problem comes from GStreamer not playing nice with old versions of Lavf encode for opus.

I'm using the Strawberry version available through the official Debian repo (1.2.10). I also tried the latest version (1.2.19) to see if that helps but no shot. Still same problem.

Anyone else encountered this or got a good idea what could be causing it?
