Hi there,
I need to know what happens when preferred format for a device matches the format the songs already have, but the quality/bitrate chosen in setting/transconding is different the quality/bitrate of those songs? For example, copying a mp3 song with 320kbps bitrate to a device that is set to always convert to mp3, but with 128kbps bitrate chosen in transcoding section of settings for mp3 files. Will the song be converted to an mp3 file with 128kbps bitrate, or will conversion be skipped since the file is already in mp3?
I'd appreciate it if anyone who knows could tell me. I've been trying to copy a whole lot of songs to a device with limited storage, and I needed to convert them to a lower quality. I tried copying a few songs with the aforementioned settings applied, but nothing was converted. So now I don't really know whether the issue is missing backed packages needed for converting files, or just how Strawberry music player is set to behave.

Question about transcoding when copying songs to a device

Custom path selection for copy to device option
When copying music to another device, Strawberry music player copies the files to the main folder of that device. In many instances, copying to a sub-folder within that device (/device/music is in most scenarios a better option) would be more convenient, such as when syncing music to a phone. I believe we don't want many folders cluttering up the main folder of the phone storage and thus, being able to copy to a specific folder, like the music folder within that device's main folder would be much better for keeping all songs on that device in one place. This is especially important when your phone is set to look for music in a specific folder, to avoid detecting and adding other audio tracks you don't want in the phone's music player, like voice recordings.
Hope it's not difficult to add this feature, and so we can see it in future releases.
