Strawberry works, but then it doesn't. Gstreamer issue?

I am running (trying to run) Strawberry on Windows Subsystem for Linus (WSL) where I have installed Ubuntu 26.04 on a Windows 11 host. I am running Strawberry 1.2.18 and Gstreamer 1.28.2-1 as provided by Ubuntu 26.04.
Strawberry works. But then it doesn't. When I say it doesn't, I can click the arrow and pause buttons but nothing happens. I can still access the menu items. I can't replicate exactly what causes it to stop working, but it always does. Either through repeated use of the play controls, or opening and then closing the settings window (even if I don't change a setting). Quitting and relaunching the program does not help.
I use music programs for practicing an instrument, so I need to reliably start/stop/"rewind" songs.
I have started strawberry from the command line so I can view the STDOUT.
When I start the program and it works, here is the STDOUT. This captures starting the program at 12:41:06 and then starting playing Samba Pa Ti at 12:41:16 and then pausing or stopping (I forget) at 12:41:32

And then it went on to play a Gordon Lightfoot song (although there may have been a delay there), but then it proceeded to go through the entire playlist, starting with a Marshall Tucker song. I don't know if sound was coming out (I was out of the house).
When I sat down to compose this post, I see that Strawberry is working well, ready to play the first song on the playlist. Don't know how long that will last.
Any suggestions for me to try?
