"SSL handshake failed: The issuer certificate of a locally looked up certificate could not be found (6)"
i'm on linux and ive tried using librewolf, firefox, and chrome (Grody!!!) but none of em work... i did all the basic troubleshooting steps like closing and reopening it, turning my wifi off and on, restarting my pc. idk i am kind of hopeless after i do those three things to be fair ┐( ˘_˘)┌

same here

What OS is this on?
-
@jonas i am on ubuntu 25.10 :^)
-
@awfulcandlestick Same problem here on Ubuntu 26.04. Started very recently, like yesterday...
-
I can confirm the same behaviour on Mint 22.3, Cinnamon. Started with the update from two? days ago, Strawberry is 1.2.23 Flatpak
-
Same here on connecting to Tidal, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
-
Can verify, Linux Mint 22.3. Started after the last update.
Can also verify it does not happen on a Windows test station (1.0.23) -
Just confirming — since the last update, the player has been having connectivity problems. It won't grab album covers, and it can't fetch artwork from a URL either

The "SSL handshake failed: Unable to get local issuer certificate" error occurs because the root certificate required to validate the SSL certificate is missing, so a system related issue and not a bug in Strawberry.
Flatpak sandbox is strictly isolated and does not automatically read SSL/TLS certificates from the host system's trust store, it's probably a bug in the runtime, missing the root certificates, could be this bug: https://invent.kde.org/packaging/flatpak-kde-runtime/-/work_items/91
