I am running Strawberry on 2 machines under Manjaro 22.0. Recently I updated on one system from version 1.0.10 to 1.0.14 just to find that the general background and foreground color settings in Appearance configuration have vanished and my settings have been reset. What is wrong here?

        Changelog for 1.0.12 includes
"Removed appearance settings for changing palette colors, it was never properly implemented."

        Maybe you need qt6ct?

I removed the Foreground / background color settings because of several flaws and users continued to report problems with it. I do not have time to properly implement it. It is difficult to get right, and we have to test it with every Qt style on each Os which takes up to much time.
One of the problems was that it was using background color for both "Base" and "Window", causing it to be completely unusable with many styles.
It can be added back if properly implemented.

I'm wondering if its worth mentioning in the man page, and/or the readme, that Linux users not using KDE, could consider installing qt5ct or qt6ct as appropriate.

Many thanks for the hint about qt6ct! I managed to adjust a copy of Fusion "darker" color scheme to resemble my old color settings.

I think a less elaborate way for yourself and users like me would have been to keep the settings and display a warning about the potential compatibility problems with some styles.

                absolutely!
Want to downgrade to 1.0.12 for that reason. Is the debian package for version 1.0.12 available somewhere? Cant find it anywhere... Im using debian bullseye

The settings were removed in 1.0.12. So you would have to downgrade to 1.0.11.

But maybe the workaround using qt6ct works for you too.
