    • RE: TIDAL playback stops due to buffering and won't recover

@jonas Thanks for the response. I do use Linux (Arch Linux to be more specific). I seem to have both libsoup and libsoup3 installed in my system. When I try to remove version 3 with cascading to dependent applications, strawberry is on the list of apps slated for removal, so my guess is in Arch Linux, strawberry is linked to libraries that use version 3 of libsoup.

Not sure how I would go about forcing the use of version 2, but coincidentally, the v3 library got an update to version 3.0.5 on Mar 25 and I am just now testing it as I write this and the issue seems to have gone now.

I'll give it more testing over the coming days, but I do appreciate the explanation, @jonas . 😊

    • TIDAL playback stops due to buffering and won't recover

      Hi all,

been enjoying using my TIDAL account with Strawberry for quite some time, but several weeks ago, I started having this issue where a tune would play but toward the end of it (the last 10% of the run time), the playback stops, the little progress bar/circle at the bottom of the app's window shows up, and the status text says "Buffering", but nothing ever gets buffered and I have to restart the playback. I have tried multiple TIDAL tokens I have fished out of my Android app's cache but all exhibit the same behavior.

Unfortunately, this happens pretty consistently -- not all the time, but probably in the majority of cases.

Has anyone come across this issue? I have tried running Strawberry in a terminal with verbose debug logging on, but nothing showed when the issue occurred. Seems to me like maybe TIDAL cuts the stream? I know for sure that it's not my connectivity that is the problem as I can stream using TIDAL's web interface pretty comfortably.

      Thanks in advance.
