Maybe it builds from the git .tar.xz asset not truly directly from git which, if so, you can ignore me.

I had a poke around in the PKGBUILD of the official Arch package, and the source is

source=(git+https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry#tag=$pkgver
        https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry/releases/download/$pkgver/$pkgname-$pkgver.tar.xz)

So it does build from the .tar.xz asset (which may be a recent change after the credential thing). The more you know

Oh i did notice I got rate limited before when trying to search up artists, so that's a nice change! I switched back to non-custom API credentials and can confirm there is no more rate limiting reported in the CLI

My Spotify tracks still don't play though (getting that same error of resource not found).

I guess some part of my install is just borked... I did try deleting the Strawberry folder in .cache, but no change.

@jonas Good news but not 100% yet: after I used custom credentials following your steps (had to restart Strawberry after I signed out from my other non-custom one to get it to work, really weird), I can now use the in-built search function and refresh my catalogues!

...unfortunately, that's where the good part ends. After searching for a song, adding it to my playlist, and trying to play it, I still get this error:

Okay, after installing v1.2.29 from the Arch Linux repos (which builds directly from git), I'm now getting a different error when I try to refresh my Spotify catalogues. This error may be relevant to why the tracks no longer play.

When I try to refresh any of the catalogues or search an artist with the in-built search function, I now get these errors as a result:

I got Strawberry from the Arch Linux extra repo. Coincidentally, the package was updated a few minutes ago to add the missing API credentials part haha, so the part you mention about rebuilding the package (since it's done directly from git I assume) has been done.

Hello, sorry if this is a very smooth-brained post, but I'm very confused by the changes in the latest update.
I use authentication for last.fm and Spotify, and have been logged out of both due to the changes, and can't figure out what to put in the Client ID and Client secret fields.

Separating this by last.fm issues and Spotify issues:

Last.fm
I've tried putting my email/username into the Client ID field and my password in the Client secret field, but the webpage I get sent to shows this:

The URL in this specific instance is https://www.last.fm/api/auth?api_key=username&cb=http://localhost:45305/ - is this the intended behaviour?
(note: running Strawberry via CLI with strawberry --verbose shows no errors, warnings or any other kind of feedback in this instance.)

Spotify
No matter what I put into the Client ID and Client secret fields, it always returns

ERROR SpotifyService:259               "Missing Spotify client ID and/or client secret"

and I am never redirected to the Spotify website.

If there's an API key I need to fish out from somewhere and put in these fields, please let me know because the services themselves don't show me anything (unless I'm just real bad at searching :^) )
Strawberry is my music player of choice for both local and streamed tracks, so I'm very happy to help troubleshoot any issues and get the whole setup working again! Thank you for your continued hard work on this wonderful music player. ^^

I just noticed that there's a place to log in for Genius too, so I tried that and also get a webpage saying "Invalid Authorization". The URL is https://api.genius.com/oauth/authorize?client_id=username&code_challenge=LW6f0eupn2UFYo47mgoaIidHdcLlqC8--LGQVnxy44Q&code_challenge_method=S256&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Foauth.strawberrymusicplayer.org%2F&response_type=code&scope=me&state=qwx1CBcGJHvPC6wtoXjhLRSbsvZEVIpM-36917

@jonas Hmm, these songs are definitely still available on Spotify. I tried making a new playlist, searching for songs that aren't already in my library, and adding them. Still getting the same error.
I ran Strawberry through the CLI and while I think it's the exact same error message, here's what keeps popping up:

Hi! Same issue here for all Spotify Tracks when I try to play them. I'm on Arch Linux on the latest kernel (as of writing, Linux 7.2.3-1-cachyos) with X11 Qtile.

Resource not found.
