    • RE: Unclear on how to use USB Device

@jonas Thank you! I decided to play with this some more on 2 other machines (laptops) just to see if I got any different results. I did kind of decide that yes the device needs to be mounted to be "seen" by Strawberry as even when you double click on it to open, it will mount it. So that problem is solved.

What isn't solved is my result keeps ending up the same: I can't move any files to the device using Strawberry and my playlist.

I have an inter rim solution (ie the sledgehammer solution):

      1. Create an .m3u file from my playlist
      2. Use a bash script to read the playlist and move the files in the playlist (with their folders) to a different directory (from my library nfs share to /home/laura/Music)
      3. Mount the device
      4. Using Nemo, copy the files from /home.../Music to the device

It's not great, but at least I have workout music on my device which is where I want it. 🙂

If you have any other thoughts or ideas to test, I'd love to hear them.

      Thanks! Laura

    • Unclear on how to use USB Device

I have 22.04 Ubuntu Workstation, and a SanDisk USB MP3 player. I am able to mount the device, see the filesystem, access the files. But when I attempt to use the device in Strawberry I get various issues.

      WHEN MOUNTED TO FILESYSTEM:

      1. The Device is New: I double click on it, it becomes available and says 0 songs This seems to work.
      2. The Device is Known: It says 0 songs. Still seems to be ok.
      3. Select a song, or any combination of songs:
        a. Option A Strawberry Freezes and has to be force quit
        b. Option B All files fail to copy

      WHEN UNMOUNTED TO FILESYSTEM:

      1. Nothing in Strawberry seems to work at all.

My understanding was that to use Strawberry, the device should be unmounted at the Filesystem level.

What can I do to get this working? I have used fdisk to verify that the OS sees it at /dev/sdc

      Thank you Laura (webmistress32)
