@jonas Thanks for the reply, jonas. Apparently the main difference between the "N" editions of Windows and the rest is the absence of media tools by default, including resampledmo.dll. It wasn't in my System32. Installing the Media Feature Pack adds it back in, and the installer + program seem to work now.

It's not hard-coded, just not specified anywhere so it uses the default storage on the phone. I think this was a restriction in the llibrary used in strawberry (libmtp), and not strawberry itself. But it might be possible in newer versions of libmtp. Unfortunately I have to many things to do so I'm not sure when this can be looked into again.

What version is this? Version 1.0.15 is always using strict ssl and no option to turn it off. Fixed in 1.0.16.
It could be related to the SSL certificate, do you have the option for "Use strict SSL mode" in the backend settings, turn it off.
It could also be that you are missing a gstreamer plugin for the stream, or the stream is unsupported.
You can use the gst-discoverer-1.0 utility to figure out what stream it is.
Usage.: gst-discoverer-1.0 <URL>
Then install the specific gstreamer plugin needed.

I also noticed today that if I click "edit track information", the comment under "Tags" is the one I entered. But if I see the comment under the Playlist, its a different one. Once I click the track, the comment I entered appears, once the track changes, I get another comment (either blank or one not made by me). Seems like the tag is reading a comment from 2 different sources.

The comment that appears not entered by me, I dont know where its coming from, its not under any tag under "edit track information"

I am going to install mp3tag to check where it might be coming from.

I can't reproduce this issue, I've tested with 2 different DACs on 2 different computers.
As I suggested earlier, try temporarily deactivating PipeWire and PulseAudio and set output to ALSA.
Other gstreamer based players might work because they lower the audio quality and or resample the sample rate using audioresample.

You are missing a gstreamer plugin called bs2b, part of gstreamer bad. Install that or uncheck "Improve headphone listening of stereo audio records" in the backend settings.

@jonas Perhaps you should consider including that information and also indicating which version each system is no longer supported on.

Does gst-inspect-1.0 libav | grep ape show Monkey's Audio decoder?
Does the file play using gst-launch-1.0?
Did you try to clear the gstreamer plugin cache? Delete ~/.cache/gstreamer-1.0/registry.x86_64.bin

@jonas Thanks. That's what I figured. I never liked that anyway. I say "played" is actually played not sorta played. 🙂
