A total rip off.
I thought the idea of throwing $5 in the pot was to support the developer; who is not employed to do this.

Basically, lyrics tend to work fairly well in Strawberry - except in a few circumstances.
I'm curious if anyone else has this issue, but I find that when I load a track and the lyrics don't load, I sometimes need to stop it playing (F7) and restart it - then I can select the lyrics, do Ctrl+E and paste them.
However, when saving - the track often skips and jumps ahead and generally stutters quite a bit.
I did a quick search and didn't see anyone mention it, is this just me?

This has more stations...
visit radio-browser website to get current URL's and test them in your location... that's important.
That's why Strawberry links built in is not a great idea - because stations change protocols and links.

Really, from ALL of the radio apps with built in stuff - I'm very happy to escape them. There are just too many issues - so it's better to leave Strawberry for music if you want a GUI Radio player.
With the way that, for example, BBC make it tough to track down URL's - and when you see the streams, it's easier to hunt down the prized OPUS ones and leave out the archaic mp3 or m4a streams... most music players can't keep up.
The website absolutely can, if a station stops playing then I go back to the browser and find the next stream.
I think I had one afternoon searching and finding stuff I liked on there, and it's really very trivial even for a grandmother - or even your wife.
However, the absolute best Radio GUI application IMO - the one I left behind (preferring the playlist) was Shortwave - which is something that Strawberry isn't ever going to come close to emulating...
It's very simple to look at, with BIG icons to click, and easy 'Browse' and 'Search'... though I found it only 95% reliable compared to the above website - which gives you the actual stream, so you can copy and paste it into your list.
Really, once she has a dozen stations - why would she need anything else hard-coded?

@athoopen To be honest, I just find it better to use a playlist:

Once you have the format, can add anything from radiobrowser easily.
@br_shadow Hmmm there'd be a problem when the wrong lyrics are pulled then - so I'd still go with manually writing to the tag.
I had, with Guayadeque, a lot of junk written automatically. The problem is that, if loaded into strawberry, which will pull lyrics when there aren't any, it simply displays the note saying that lyrics weren't found.
I'm sure there are still a few tunes with wrongly embedded lyrics still in my collection... I still come across the odd one or two, then I have to open/edit/delete/save to clear, stop and start to pull lyrics, copy and paste and save to fix them in the file.
WIth Guayadeque, even if lyrics are displayed (good or bad) you can click to 1. Search Lyrics, 2. Search in browser (actually the best hit rate if 1. doesn't work) and then 3. Save to the file.
@jamesisin Maybe - I set my tooltip colours https://i.imgur.com/SyN0Cvp.png and they are applied perfectly, but then I'm running the QT strawberry on Plasma desktop.
I'd check settings - QT should follow a colour scheme, but maybe it's an issue running it on a GTK desktop instead.
@wolfie I'd suggest Musicbrainz Picard as the best way to reorganise - I use it to move/tag/rename all of my music into a separate folder inside the Music folder.
@wolfie any point asking Why?
Strawberry is FOSS, hard to understand why you'd use the forum to come ask about some proprietary alternative... especially when the old versions of J.River are available on the J.River website
@br_shadow For sure, when you load a song, and lyrics are searched, just a single click to save would be much better than the ctrl_E copy/paste and save dance.
@OriNOVet Aha, they can be tricky.
Search terms 'Last Played' I set this to 'not in the last year' and after >Next 'Sort songs by Last Played oldest first', only showing the first 20, and dynamic playback enabled.
@arukashi The answer to your question is, indeed, correct in stating that the playlist uses the system font.
To change the playlist font to something legible, you must have a system font which is legible, and this is not something Strawberry has in settings - so perhaps this should be part of a feature request for appearance settings (as we can only set fonts for the 'Context' tab)
This is (in my opinion) the epitome of Lyrics functionality - if Guayadeque were maintained and developed I would never leave it.
Where we see Lyrics there are some options:
The Binocular icon triggers a search (internal). The lyrics are also saved to the file - so permanently available.
The notepad is for editing, and the green arrow is to save what you edited/pasted whilst the second binoculars will 'search on the web' opening the search in a browser.
@samo_dadela This makes NO sense.
Disabling Auto saves bandwidth, but OP is asking for MANUAL option to download and presumably edit/embed lyrics.
Since Strawberry can search online and show lyrics, would it be possible to also do the same for lyrics?
Lolz very concise.
Actually, what would be good is for Strawberry to embed lyrics without the need to edit/copy/paste them once found.
Just the option for an 'edit' and 'save' button would help.
Guayadeque has this sorted - click to download, click to search on web, click to edit, click to save to file when done.
@arukashi That's the system font - change that and your playlist will change too.
https://i.imgur.com/QH91cTJ.png (also with Kvantum theme)
Font isn't set with a Strawberry is it? unless your THEME specifies a different font from the default.
@arukashi Just the ability to 'search' and get results from radio-browser to add would be enough, sure.
@ant_codes That sounds like a Mint bug. I had the same issue with a couple of KDE themes I tried, however I can edit the colour schemes.
@nyuwa I don't have a clue - I use Linux, so file paths and permissions tend to make sense. Windows lettering was cute when there was a Floppy in A:, but it's just annoying now.
