@synth_mania I agree, your expected behavior would be the perfect way. But since this is an operation that's not a day-to-day thing, how about a kludgy workaround? Organize your songs alphabetically, and transfer in several smaller batches, based on letters of the alphabet, e.g., A-F, etc.

@leo Can you try the latest (currently 1.2.3-43) from https://builds.strawberrymusicplayer.org/debian/trixie/ and see if it fixes this crash.

@James Happy Days! The update I just got today fixed the problem. Sort by artist now displays all the songs in alphabetical order which is PERFECT. Thanks again for all your work !! James Janzen

@jonas - Nope, it is not muted, and still does not audibly play anything. I tried all combos of audio output and device in the backend settings and nothing has changed, hence my confusion. As said, all other playback (games/Spotify/browser) works, so I am really unsure what happened. EDIT: Seems this was on me, I used the x86 build which was not working. Downloaded x64 this time and it works just fine. So sorry! Appreciate your time.

@jonas Thanks! Great to be rid of this. A minor irritation in theory, but these things get to me more than they really should do.

@mipper The issue with Strawberry leaving open pipelines which leads to open files should be fixed in version 1.2.1. However the new version won't work on Ubuntu 22.04 as Strawberry now requires a newer Qt version than is available on that Ubuntu version, consider upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble). The "Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in" error could be a GStreamer bug, maybe a newer GStreamer version solves that.

The 1.2.1 release should fix the caps lock crash.
