      There are several issues with the Spotify support in release 1.1.1, so I've been working on fixing those.

      The blocking of the GUI when switching songs is fixed. Streaming being limited to 128kbps is fixed. The favorites and search results returning too many artists and albums is fixed.

      However, today I notice that Spotify's authentication for the actual streaming is no longer working, there is some discussion here:
      https://github.com/librespot-org/librespot/issues/1308
      https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gst-plugins-rs/-/issues/203
      Hopefully it will be resolved, and then possible to provide a access token to gstreamer so we do not have to provide additional login for the actual streaming too.

      @jonas said in artist info by Wikipedia:

      One problem is that the Wikipedia API returns everything related to a specific search, not just artists. So I consider the Wikipedia API not the be good enough for our use-case.

      What about using MusicBrainz's API instead? Their artist data seems to be derived from Wikipedia as well.

      @xmetal said in Add Ubuntu 24.04 Noble support via an "official" DEB:

      to be clear I said "official" deb since release DEBs I see have the base name in them... that is the only reason i said it that way

      So is there an unofficial deb that works floating around anywhere. On a vanilla 24.04 Ubuntu I am getting an error during install which stops it.

      @adityasubathu I believe the file name filter includes the complete path. At least it works for me like that.

      @rlkeeney I don’t see how that may help. 🤔

      @rajm It also happened to me some time ago. I recreated them looking at the conditions used here:

      Cheers.

      I got information that ListenBrainz is working on something that could be used for that as well. See https://github.com/metabrainz/troi-recommendation-playground
      ListenBrainz is from MetaBrainz, the head of MusicBrainz (with picard and so on).
