@johnsv
I'm getting a message the GStreamer plugin is missing but the link you used isn't working. Many of my music files were wiped out. I have them backed up but I don't know how to reload from backup. Can you help? Thank you.
@jonas Thank you - yes, the files are OPUS encoded. For some reason my phone wants to see .ogg extension, my Mac will have different metadata recognition depending on which app I use to open the files and which filename extension I have. I made two batch scripts to rename the files back and forth but obviously that's not the handiest solution. I have what sound to me like good results using the opus encoder and so I'm trying to just stick with that for any lossy encodings I do. Sorry about the terminology mistake - opus is the encoding method.
https://github.com/ClaraCrazy/Tidal2Strawberry is a python script that creates a strawberry-formatted xspf file from a Tidal URL. Seems to work, allowing me to play My New Arrivals, for example.
@jonas Yes, adding a note about this in the warning dialog would be useful, thanks.
For me, it's no catastrophe, I'll just reconstitute my playlists little by little.
I don't know if it's a related script branch but i imported my itunes metadata (playcount, lastplayed, .. first into clementine) and then used the https://musconv.com/itunes-to-clementine/ script which suited me fine!
I have ALL my data in strawberry ...
The manual integrity check lasts less than 1s and gives me a "OK".
All my music files are stored in exFat partition. I have like 400Gb music files mainly ogg.
Everything is fine on Mixxx application.
Regards,
@philevans
This is probably related to the same issue with high CPU as some others have experienced on macOS, while it works fine for others. Performance in in general is worse on macOS then on Linux and Windows.
Unfortunately there has not been much interest in contributing to Strawberry from the macOS community over the past 3 years Strawberry has been developed.
Another vote for ratings stored in file tags. It's great to have if the collection needs to be rebuilt from scratch without having to rate all those tracks again 🙂
Hi guys! First of all, I can say that the MacOS is very convenient to work, and secondly, I can't open the link to Reddit, which you have discounted 😞
@lindsey
We got nothing to do with the flatpak, you need to report that to flatpak.
The regular releases and the PPA repository is compiled with libgpod.
@cherrystraw Exactly. In fact, radio stations that transmit data on the current stream get a search for a cover from online sources by Strawberry and often a cover will be shown. It is often not the correct one (different album or artist, depending on the tag data sent by the streamer), but a cover at least.
If I wanted to make my own compile I could replace the baked in cdcase.png with my own, but I do not want to get involved in that. I assume the developer group scouts this forum and will see the suggestion and hopefully find some value in it.
