Strawberry should show CD (optical disc) icon only for songs loaded from CD, so I think your icons must have been replaced somehow, maybe by using system icons. For the collection it should show a black vinyl icon, for local songs outside of the collection it should show a folder icon, other sources are streams, tidal, spotify, etc.

@tringtainder Same problem as the error message, or songs missing? If you do a full re-scan, do you get any errors messages now?

Additionally, note that if you run this script without modifying the logic, note that songs that have not been marked as loved will be lowered by a half-star rating. This is so that songs that were marked as loved will have an even rating, and songs that were not will have an odd one. This is possible because iTunes has 5 possible rating options and Strawberry has 10. If you do not want this behavior, please change it when you run it! In case you need step-by-step directions to run it (Linux, not sure about mac or windows): Download and install node.js Make a directory and CD into it Save this code into a .js file Export your iTunes Library.xml file and copy it into the folder (or somewhere nearby. You'll need to specify its path) Install dependencies: npm i plist better-sqlite3 file-url Edit the javascript file! Change all of the constants at the top to those that fit your needs. If those aren't right, it can lead to unexpected behavior. As I explained at the top of this post, make sure you like the rating conversion logic or change it if you don't Back up your strawberry database Run (node ./script.js) and hope this doesn't break your library Feel free to suggest edits / comments / concerns

If you are using Arch, they switched to gstreamer with ffmpeg 7, which is not supported by the latest gstreamer release, there is a issue for this here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/issues/3657

This supposed solution didn't last very long. A few days later, the problem returned, and Pipewire appears to be the culprit. I installed Ubuntu Mate 22.04 (which has PulseAudio instead of Pipewire) on an external SSD, and then installed Strawberry on the installation, and haven't had any cutting-out problems with it. So, perhaps one solution would be to replace Pipewire with PulseAudio. If you want to experiment, you could install your choice of Linux on a USB3 flash drive. Sandisk's small metal drives (64GB or more) work well, and if they get too hot, point a fan at them. By adopting Strawberry as my player, and preventing resampling further on down the audio chain, my Zen DAC V2 sounds incredible. After hearing the ZDV2, I can't stand my previous DAC (a Topping D10s), which sounds like a toy compared to the Zen. The key seems to be the TI/Burr-Brown Advanced Segment DAC-chip, which is used in many cheap players, and is explained in a review on Amazon which can be found by going to the ZDV2 page and clicking on the waveform-image at the top of the reviews. I don't understand why this problem with Pipewire hasn't been fixed - it's been known for years, and some of the best Linux coders designed it and presumably should be able to fix it. It shouldn't be included by default in distros as long as this problem exists. The fact that it is included in some distros seems to indicate that the problem is deliberate, and that there is a solution which is being withheld from the general public.

Sooooo... is there a way to stop this? Known bug? Intended behavior? It kind of defeats the purpose of repeat mode, as far as I can tell, to just stop playing.

@jonas Thanks. Well it seems it does not read the cover either, because the cover was added thru Media Monkey, and it is available with other players. I would reiterate the saving should occur in the folder where the music is (if it needs to save anything), instead of the %APPDATA% path. Either way, great work and thank you.

I did what you recommended and was unable to get the player to work again. This is sad, because since last year, the Strawberry player has always worked well. @Gustavo-L-Conte OK, but I still consider this as a bug! It should warn that the disk is not connected rather than erasing everything. That would be easy to do. If you have a large library, it will take a long time to rebuild.
