It looks like it's using the wrong codec (qtdemux), if the file really is aac/mp4 audio not video.
You are probably missing the gstreamer mp4/aac plugin. You need either faad or fdkaac (part of gst-plugins-bad), but some distros might not ship them by default.

It wasn't displayed correctly in my previous message: the two artists are separated, in the tag, by a double backlash (not a single backlash).

@ben2talk Thanks for your reply, indeed you are right the .cue file looks to be created for a .wav file, since it contains the "WAVE" tag at the end of the FILE value.

I want to point out for clarity that in Strawberry adding the .cue or the .flac file directly works fine as it is. (The problem happens when adding folders that contain a single flac / cue)

I don't really want to split the .flac in multiple files, still tried DeadBeef, and found our that in DeadBeef player adding the folders works just fine.

I also took a look at .cue format standard, and tried changing WAVE to FLAC, just in case : same outcome.

@cybuzz73 The last Strawberry update was almost two months ago, which is kinda recent. You probably found a new bug 'cause I think is the first time someone complains about this issue. In Windows Strawberry works fine speaking about this section (Based in my experience) so, perhaps is a bug happening only in Linux Mint?

Raising the buffer duration to 8 000ms didn't do a whole lot. But raising it to 30 000ms, and also lowering the low watermark to 0.10 has almost fixed the issue. There is now just the occasional skip (e.g. once every LP play).

Isn't it possible to implement Subsonic in such a way that it buffers the entire song? This is how Sublime works, it actually buffers the playing song plus the two next tracks in the play queue.

The stars are only shown if there are local collection songs in the playlist, if the playlist is empty they are not shown.
If this is not the issue then show a screenshot of what you mean.

@alphanumeric No. I have understood you can only completely quit the left sidebar, but you cannot remove specific buttons from it.

@Redhatter I've got the same problem on Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS (Plasma Desktop).

Found out:

The keys can be added in system settings "shortcuts".
If another mediaplayer is configured, to use the same keys, it has to be removed first.
Maybe, there are similar techniques to add the keys on another OS.

@jonas Thanks - trying it - typically after having it for a few weeks with debug on I can't provoke it, but it also looks like it got an update from Debian as well. I'll keep trying!

@mrbluebudo the empty rules menu has been fixed (at least for me!) - in recent builds which you'll need to download manually

@jonas On checking - I had protobuf-compiler already installed (so why did I install via snap??!!) I removed the snap version and re-ran cmake - make then gave me
ext/libstrawberry-tagreader/CMakeFiles/libstrawberry-tagreader.dir/build.make:73: *** target pattern contains no '%'. Stop.
I removed the build directory contents and then cmake/make ran ok - not sure whether cmake should just have worked with the dependency change but it's now ok.
