Maybe a tracker module browser for modland.com like https://www.wothke.ch/playmod/ or http://modtu.be ? A bit silly idea maybe! But free music for the masses!

@astrovark If you have enabled to save album covers as embedded covers under the covers settings, this can happen, since the cover is saved at the same time the track is played if you have the "Automatically search for album cover" option on.

Again, thank you. I've changed my studio around a bit and basically taken this machine off line. I did learn somethings about using the command line and for that I am very appreciative. Don't worry, as the novice I am I'm sure I'll be back at some point. Keep well and all the best!

@jonas said in upgrade 08.3?: Check that you have ALSA and PulseAudio as options under Output. Check that your soundcard is listed under device. Try specifically selecting ALSA or PulseAudio and the device. Working perfectly now, thank you enormously

Another potentially useful datum: [image: a0a8971f-b85b-401c-8888-552e8227d7c8-image.png] All House genre tracks dumped into a playlist, sorted by composer (my 'date added' column): works EXCEPT 2023.01.23, and 2024.10.30, both sort out of order. 2023.01.23 weirdly don't sort next to each other. [image: e8c7d396-4d10-42d0-bff5-0d5060ff3107-image.png] unicode characters are normal for the correctly sorted entries, [image: bea93f1b-ab1a-4457-8091-6e73ec6bc161-image.png] but also the incorrectly sorted ones, so it looks like it's not a characters issue (I've typed all of these manually so inserting unicode seemed unlikely but just in case)

If anyone using Libre.fm previously is also scrobbling to Last.fm, we can now pull in your scrobbles from there. Just email support with your Last.fm username and I'll get you set up.

The Android client for the Strawberrt network remote has been accepted into the Google Play store under "Strawberry Music Player Remote" The following is from the Android app help screen. Setting up the remote: list itemIn Strawberry, go to Tools → Settings → Remote and enable "Use Remote Network Client". list itemNote the Player IP Address shown there - enter this in the client to connect (it cannot be changed). list itemNote the Remote Port - this can be changed if needed. list itemClick Apply or OK at the bottom of the settings screen for changes to take effect. If you're using a firewall, you may need to allow local connections for the selected port. Playlist token (optional): list itemPlaylist changes - adding, removing, or creating a playlist - can be protected with a token, so only clients that know it can modify your playlists. This guards against unwanted changes from other devices on your network. list itemEnabled in Strawberry's Remote settings by setting a Remote Token - leave that field empty to disable the protection entirely. list itemIf a token is set, the client asks for it when you connect. Enter it to enable playlist changes, or choose Bypass to continue read-only (you can still view and play, but not add, remove, or create playlists). list itemAn incorrect token can be retried - after too many incorrect attempts, the server disconnects the client as a safeguard. list itemTurning the token requirement on or off on the player takes effect immediately for clients already connected, prompting for the token if it becomes required. For the best view of the song list, enable auto-rotate on your device so the screen can switch to landscape and show more columns. Song list: list itemDouble-tap a song to play it. list itemLong-press a song for options - add the currently playing song to another playlist, or remove a song from this playlist. As Jonas is too busy to review my code I've been keeping my fork in sync with the Strawberry releases. If you'd like to try the remote you can install the latest deb release from my github fork Any issues let me know.

@jonas Yes, indeed. Thanks, all compiled just fine and playing nicely now as I write this. So appreciated, thank you again!. I notice dsun above saying 'I'm running Manjaro ARM on it and Strawberry is in the software repository.' How do we get Raspberry Pi OS to include it too? - Strawberry is so much better than VLC for music. Nicer UI, album covers, remembers playlists etc etc. It would be a real 'plus' for the RPi community.

@Gemini62167 Thank you for bothering in writing such a long post about this Apple theme. I'm sad too about the fact things changed for worst since the decease of Steve Jobs; I always knew Tim Cook was making a deplorable job as the new CEO (Remember that iPhone X presentation for the 10th anniversay of the original iPhone which was more a spit to the face of the user than a real tribute to the original phone?) but I didn't knew things were this messed. Looks like you know Apple more than me so I don't have too much to add as a feedback, so I'll thank you again for writing all this for me, and for the rest of the people who's reading in this thread. And thanks to Jonas for doing such an excellent Music Player, even for Mac users; I think Mac users needs a hero since the most recent OS systems doesn't have iTunes anymore and the number of music players is low.

There are several issues with the Spotify support in release 1.1.1, so I've been working on fixing those. The blocking of the GUI when switching songs is fixed. Streaming being limited to 128kbps is fixed. The favorites and search results returning too many artists and albums is fixed. However, today I notice that Spotify's authentication for the actual streaming is no longer working, there is some discussion here: https://github.com/librespot-org/librespot/issues/1308 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gst-plugins-rs/-/issues/203 Hopefully it will be resolved, and then possible to provide a access token to gstreamer so we do not have to provide additional login for the actual streaming too.

@totti_777 I just added my Radio to Strawberry... previously, I loaded the contents of the 'Radio' tab and ended up with one or two I liked, but couldn't work out how to 'add radio'. So then - as with PyRadio which I usually use - I mostly added those by copying the URL from radio-browser. You can do the same job with an m3u playlist: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:0,🗫 BBC - Radio 4 Extra http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_four_extra.m3u8 #EXTINF:0,🎵 101 - Smooth Jazz http://jking.cdnstream1.com/b22139_128mp3 I save playlists separate from my media players after having lost some in the past - so this works well (and Strawberry is good at getting Lyrics for many stations) so that I removed my alternative GUI radio player.
